The purpose of this learning activity is for the student to examine a health concern and the effect on health care delivery. The student will increase awareness of policy advocacy and political activism in the health care arena.
Criteria for the paper:
Identify and define a health issue, problem or concern at the local, state or national level, providing available data. The selection can be related to your practice area or a topic of interest.
Importance of the identified issue
Identify the scope of the issue and the underlying history or causes
Factors that contribute to the issue
Why is it an issue for health care or advanced nursing practice
Determine the current and/or future effects of the issue on the community or beyond
Identify stakeholders (consumers, community, professionals, etc.) who are impacted; how they are affected and the role they could have in addressing the issue.
Examine the issue/problem/concern from a socio-economic, cultural, ethical, as well as political perspective
Develop a resolution to your issue. Consider your outcome measures or objectives, how the plan would be financed and what resources would be needed to implement the plan
APA Style 7th edition, 6 pages excluding Title page and References pages. No Abstract required. Headings are required.
