EBP offers several benefits, including enhancing the nurses’ leadership abilities, expanding their critical thinking skills and enhancing their capacity to serve patients with safe and valid practices (Brunt & Morris, 2023; Ramage & Foran, 2023). In the context of healthcare settings, evidence-based practice (EBP) plays a role by merging existing knowledge with the most recent findings of research in order to guarantee that patient care is founded on data that has been evidenced by scientific study. It does this by promoting the utilization of medicines and reducing the incidence of discrepancies in treatment techniques, which ultimately leads to improved outcomes. Some of the reliable sources of information include publications that have been subjected to peer review and comprehensive reviews, as well as recommendations from organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). In order to ensure that the information they disseminate is accurate and applicable, these organizations conduct exhaustive evaluations of the findings they are making. When healthcare practitioners keep track of these references, they are able to provide patients with the safest treatment options possible, so lowering the number of errors that occur and simultaneously improving patient safety.
